Lentil soup in chicken broth is a hearty and comforting dish of German cuisine rooted in the traditions of simple yet nourishing home recipes. Lentils, with their nutty flavor and velvety texture, harmoniously blend with aromatic chicken broth to create a rich and warming taste. The addition of onion and garlic adds a slight spiciness, while final touches like crispy bacon, chorizo sausage, or spicy chili give the dish a personal character. To soften the flavor, a spoonful of creamy sour cream can be added. This soup is perfect for cold days when warmth and coziness are desired or simply for a satisfying home-cooked lunch that delights with its simplicity and richness of flavors.
