Tarator is a refreshing cold soup from traditional Bulgarian cuisine. Its history dates back to ancient times when Bulgarians used simple yet nutritious ingredients in their diet. This dish is characterized by the lightness and pleasant tang of yogurt, harmoniously complemented by the freshness of cucumbers and the aroma of garlic. Nuts add richness to the soup, while vinegar adds a tangy note. It is perfect for hot summer days, refreshing and quenching thirst. Tarator is often served chilled, and its delicate flavor makes it a great addition to meat and fish dishes or a light dinner on its own.
