Cabbage soup with pork ribs is a hearty and aromatic dish of Ukrainian cuisine that captivates with its rich flavor and warming effect. Historically, cabbage soup was popular among peasants due to the availability of ingredients and nutritional properties. The base of the dish is a rich broth made from pork ribs that gains a special depth of flavor. Tomatoes in their own juice add a slight acidity, while fresh cabbage provides a pleasant crunch. Potatoes and carrots soften the taste, creating a harmonious balance. Aromatic herbs like dill and parsley add freshness and make the soup especially appetizing. Cabbage soup is traditionally served with sour cream, which adds tenderness. It’s an ideal choice for cold days to warm up and enjoy traditional Ukrainian cuisine.
