Tahini is a fragrant sesame paste originating from Morocco and the Middle East. Its history dates back to ancient times when sesame seeds were considered a source of strength and energy. This delicate, oily sauce has a rich nutty flavor with a slight bitterness that beautifully complements dishes of Eastern cuisine. Tahini can be used as a base for sauces, added to hummus, or used in baking. Its silky texture makes it an ideal ingredient for dressing salads and appetizers. The simplicity of preparation allows for easy homemade versions by simply grinding sesame seeds with olive oil until smooth. The result is an exquisite product that reveals the richness of flavors and aromas of Eastern culinary traditions.
