New Year's Cranberry Jam

Cane sugar is an important attribute of New Year's and Christmas desserts. But if you don't have it, no problem, feel free to replace it with regular sugar, cranberries are enough to create a festive mood.

Grate the lemon zest and separately squeeze the juice.

Wash the berries well and dry them. Transfer to a bowl and add lemon juice and sugar. Mix well and leave overnight, stirring 1-2 times.
- Fresh cranberries: 500 g

Peel a small apple and remove the core, then grate it. Transfer to a saucepan and add lemon zest.

Pour all the juice from the berries into a saucepan with apples, adding 2 tablespoons of berries. Then add 125 ml of water, bring to a boil, and cook for 20-30 minutes until the apples are soft and the syrup thickens slightly.

Add the remaining berries and cook for another 5-8 minutes.

Pour the jam into sterilized jars, seal tightly, turn them upside down, cover with a towel, and let cool. Then turn them back and store in a cool place.
