Tartar sauce
4 servings
15 minutes
Classic French sauce based on mayonnaise with capers, Dijon mustard and spicy pickles will fit perfectly into any barbecue party format: it successfully complements fried fish, shrimp, squid and potatoes baked in ash. There is a version of tartar with the addition of a mashed hard-boiled egg, but in field conditions it is better to do without it. Mayonnaise can be replaced with natural yogurt or sour cream - for dietary reasons.
