Onion-potato salad is a traditional dish of Bulgarian cuisine, simple and surprisingly tasty. Historically, it originated as a humble village dish that became popular at family gatherings due to its rich flavor and balanced ingredients. Hot potatoes soaked in vinegar and slightly sweetened acquire a tangy sourness, while juicy onions add freshness and a hint of sharpness. The next day, the salad's flavor deepens even more, especially after adding mayonnaise and lemon juice. It pairs excellently with meat and fish dishes and also serves as a standalone side dish. Onion-potato salad is the perfect choice for those who appreciate simplicity and richness of flavor.
