Potatoes with cheddar cheese is a fragrant Hungarian dish that embodies the coziness of rustic cuisine. At its core is tender potatoes baked to a golden crust with the rich flavor of cheddar cheese. Sour cream adds a creamy texture, while onions and spices provide zest. This combination makes the dish perfect for a home dinner or festive table. Historically, such casseroles emerged in peasant families in Hungary, where simple yet hearty ingredients formed the basis of their diet.
