Mac and cheese is an iconic dish of American cuisine, loved by millions for its simplicity and rich cheesy flavor. Its history traces back to Europe but gained true popularity in the USA thanks to Thomas Jefferson, who brought the recipe after his travels. It consists of tender macaroni covered in a creamy cheddar and Swiss cheese sauce, baked to a golden crust. Mac and cheese is the perfect comfort food that warms the soul and adorns any table. It's prepared as an everyday dish but can also be the star of a festive dinner. The taste is soft and creamy with a slight spiciness from pepper and onion, while the texture combines velvety sauce with a crispy baked crust.
