Chicken on a jar
4 servings
120 minutes
In the case of chicken, a jar is not a whim, but a functional element. Firstly, the chicken is heated from all sides. Secondly, the steam compensates for the juice coming out of the chicken, and the meat remains tender, and due to the spices, the chicken acquires a more subtle aroma. It is better to take a tall but narrow jar: it is more convenient to put the chicken on it.

1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Rub the chicken inside and out with salt, pepper, and paprika. Chop the garlic and half of the onion into pieces about 1.5 cm long. Make small cuts all over the chicken's surface and stuff it with onion and garlic.
- Chicken: 1 kg
- Salt: to taste
- Ground black pepper: to taste
- Paprika: to taste
- Garlic: 3 cloves
- Onion: 1 head

2
Pour hot water into a suitable jar, add half an onion, a bay leaf, and peppercorns, then place the chicken on top of the jar.
- Onion: 1 head
- Bay leaf: 1 piece
- Black peppercorns: to taste

3
Place potatoes on a baking sheet, with chicken in the center. Send to the oven and cook for at least one hour: there should be no blood left in the cooked chicken. Serve with plenty of greens and vegetables.
