Lazy cabbage rolls with chicken, in the oven

Lazy cabbage rolls with chicken are a simplified version of the classic Russian dish inspired by traditional cabbage rolls. Unlike their wrapped counterparts, this version requires less cooking time but retains rich flavor and nutrition. The combination of tender chicken fillet, sweet carrots, aromatic sautéed onions, and spicy notes of garlic and ginger creates a harmony of flavors complemented by the softness of stewed cabbage. Wild rice adds texture and a nutty hint, while cumin gives the dish a light spiciness. Baking in the oven allows the ingredients to exchange aromas and achieve juiciness. This is an ideal option for a cozy family dinner, especially on cool evenings when you crave something warm and homey.

1
Roast cumin seeds in a dry pan until a characteristic aroma appears.

- Chicken fillet: 600 g
- Wild rice: 1 glass

Finely chop the carrot and onion. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan. Sauté the onion, carrot, whole garlic cloves, and grated ginger in the oil until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
