Pork roast is a truly rustic dish of Russian cuisine, infused with the warmth of home. Tender pieces of pork are fried to a golden crust and then simmered in a rich tomato sauce with sour cream, gaining softness and deep flavor. Onion adds a sweet note to the dish, while bay leaf reveals its aroma. This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or fluffy porridge, complementing them with its rich, juicy taste. It is a hearty and easy-to-make meal that preserves the traditions of Russian cuisine and brings comfort, especially on cool evenings.
