Couscous with turkey under creamy sauce

4 servings

40 minutes

Couscous with turkey in creamy sauce is a true delight for lovers of East Indian cuisine. Tender pieces of turkey infused with aromatic spices simmer in a creamy sauce that gives the dish a velvety texture and a slight tanginess. Couscous prepared with olive oil and cumin is filled with depth of flavor and makes a wonderful complement. Historically, couscous is a traditional dish of North African cuisine, but its soft structure and ability to absorb flavors have made it popular in many cuisines around the world. This dish is perfect for both cozy family dinners and festive gatherings. The combination of the creaminess of the sauce and the spiciness of the spices creates a harmony of flavors, leaving a pleasant aftertaste and a desire to recreate this culinary masterpiece.

First, we process the turkey: cut it into small pieces, sprinkle with salt and a lot of black pepper. I also recommend adding dried basil. Add other spices to taste. Place the turkey in a deep pan (preferably a wok). Stew in olive oil.

While the turkey is simmering, we prepare the couscous. First, we place the couscous in a bowl and rub in olive oil, then add cumin to the mixture. We let the couscous sit for a while to soften and absorb the oil.

    Required ingredients:
    1. Couscous1 glass
    2. Olive oil1 tablespoon
    3. Ground cumin (zira)2 teaspoons

We boil water with one broth cube (either mushroom or chicken) for couscous. We cook couscous in water in a 1:1 ratio. Once the water boils, we add the couscous and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly. After that, we turn off the heat, cover it, and let it sit.

    Required ingredients:
    1. Couscous1 glass
    2. Bouillon cube1 piece

When the turkey is ready, pour in a can of cream and sour cream (you can choose one). After adding, it's better to salt to taste. Continue to simmer with the sour cream and cream. When the sauce starts to thicken, turn it off.
