Baked chicken legs are a classic Mediterranean dish filled with the aromas of herbs, garlic, and olive oil. It has roots in the ancient traditions of Mediterranean peoples where fresh ingredients and simple yet exquisite cooking are highly valued. The combination of tender chicken meat with tangy lemon juice, spicy thyme, and sweet peppers creates a rich palette of flavors, while the addition of olives adds a piquant and slightly salty touch. The dish is perfect for both a cozy family dinner and a festive feast. Baked legs remain juicy thanks to the marinade, while baking gives them an appetizing golden crust. They can be served with a light salad or a side of roasted vegetables to enhance the Mediterranean dining atmosphere.
