Beans in sauce are a true embodiment of the warmth of home cooking. In this recipe, green beans are slowly simmered in a fragrant sauce made from olive oil, tender sautéed onions, Serrano ham, and white wine. Baking soda is added to the boiling water to make the beans even softer, and the reserved broth adds rich flavor to the dish. The beans turn out tender and infused with the deep aromas of wine and ham, creating a harmony of taste. This dish can be served as a standalone meal with fresh bread or used as a side for meat or fish. Its roots lie in the tradition of slow cooking where patience and attention to detail are essential to reveal the full depth of flavor. A wonderful treat for those who appreciate simplicity with rich taste!
