Prepare all the ingredients.

Peel the potatoes and boil until cooked.
- Potato: 500 g

Drain the water from the pot, leaving 2-3 tablespoons. Mash the potatoes into a puree.

Add an egg, a tablespoon of butter, and salt, and mix thoroughly.
- Chicken egg: 0.5 piece
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Salt: to taste

Cut the onion into quarters and slice thinly.
- Onion: 1 head

In the remaining butter, fry the onion with minced garlic for 5 minutes (they should not burn, just become soft).
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic: 1 clove

Carefully drain the oil from the cod liver and mash it into large pieces.
- Cod liver: 130 g

Let the onion cool and mix it with cod liver.

Form patties from the potato mass with a diameter of about 6 cm.

Place the prepared filling in the center of each, and seal the edges like a pie.

Coat the patties in flour and fry in heated vegetable oil for 4 minutes on each side.
