The cheese burger of 1924 is a true embodiment of Estonian gastronomic simplicity and flavor richness. Its history dates back to when the combination of juicy beef steak and melted cheddar cheese became a revelation for lovers of hearty and aromatic dishes. The toasted buns give the burger a crispy texture, while the sauce composition of ketchup and mustard complements the meat flavor with spicy notes. Fresh salad, tomato slices, and pickles add balance to the burger, making it light and refreshing. Ideal for cozy family lunches and friendly gatherings, this burger not only satisfies hunger but also evokes nostalgia for simple yet impeccable traditional recipes.

1
Add onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef and mix well into a uniform mass. Form a flat small beefsteak. Do not press the beefsteak to keep it juicy. In a dense beefsteak, the temperature does not reach the inside and juices cannot move freely. Place the beefsteak in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before frying, as room temperature beefsteak quickly loses fats and will remain dry.

Fry in a pan or on a grill. Grease the pan or grill with oil. The pan should be heated to medium temperature. Flip the steak; juices will start to come out, cook for another 2-3 minutes, total cooking time is about 8 minutes. It's better if the meat is cooked to 'medium'. Before serving, the meat must 'rest' to keep the burger juicy.
