Lazy cabbage rolls with milk are a simplified variation of a classic Russian dish for quick preparation. Unlike traditional cabbage rolls, here cabbage, meat, and rice are stewed together to form a tender and aromatic mass. Milk and sour cream add softness and a creamy taste to the dish, while spices provide a light spiciness. It is perfect for a family dinner, especially on cold days when you crave something warm and cozy. Historically, cabbage rolls appeared in Russia in the 19th century, borrowing the idea from Turkish and Polish dishes, but lazy cabbage rolls became popular due to their ease of preparation. This dish pairs well with fresh herbs and dark bread, creating a harmonious and hearty lunch.
