Beef Moussaka

This recipe uses the Tefal Optigrill and its roasting attachment.

Slice the eggplants into rings about 1 cm thick. Brush them with olive oil. Turn on the Optigrill and select the orange temperature level in manual mode. Grill the eggplants for 5 minutes until they are a nice golden-brown color.
- Eggplants: 3 pieces
- Olive oil: 100 ml

Install the roasting attachment in the Optigrill, select the red temperature level in manual mode. Sauté chopped onion in olive oil until golden, then add minced garlic, tomato paste, and ground meat, mixing well. Pour in the wine and cook for a couple of minutes while stirring.
- Red onion: 1 head
- Ground beef: 400 g
- Garlic: 2 cloves
- Tomato paste: 70 g
- Red dry wine: 200 ml

Add canned tomatoes, cinnamon, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Close the lid and cook for 7 minutes. For the béchamel sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, add flour and mix. Pour in warm milk while constantly whisking to prevent lumps from forming. Continue stirring the sauce until it thickens, then remove from heat, beat in the yolks, season with salt and pepper and add nutmeg.
- Canned tomatoes in pieces: 400 g
- Bay leaf: 1 piece
- Ground cinnamon: pinch
- Salt: to taste
- Ground black pepper: to taste
- Butter: 90 g
- Wheat flour: 90 g
- Milk: 600 ml
- Egg yolk: 2 pieces
- Nutmeg: to taste

In a clean baking dish, layer eggplants, then add the meat sauce after removing the bay leaf, cover with eggplants, top with béchamel and sprinkle with grated cheese. Set the orange temperature level in manual mode and cook for 20 minutes.
