Glühwein from the chef of the Interaplen hotel is an exquisite drink embodying the coziness and warmth of European traditions. Its history traces back to medieval Europe, where aromatic hot drinks warmed travelers and created a festive atmosphere. This recipe features a harmonious balance of citrus freshness and spicy depth provided by cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and anise. Ginger adds a light spiciness while raisins contribute subtle sweetness. The drink can be non-alcoholic or include red wine and rum, making it versatile for any occasion. Glühwein is perfect for winter evenings, Christmas celebrations, or simply cozy relaxation by the fireplace.
