Apple jelly with lemon

An excellent recipe for which any apples will do. It is especially good for sweet-bland apples, which many of us grow in our gardens. Citric acid will give such a boring apple character and taste.

Peel the apples, chop them finely, and place them in a pot. Pour in 1 liter of water. Squeeze the juice from 0.5 lemon and add the lemon remnants to the apples. Add sugar.
- Apple: 2 pieces
- Water: 1.25 l
- Lemon: 0.5 piece
- Sugar: 4 tablespoons

When the compote starts to boil, remove the lemon. Mash the apples with a pestle. Cook for 10 minutes.

Dissolve starch in 1 glass of cold water. Pour it into the compote in a thin stream while stirring. Bring to a boil, cook for another minute, then remove from heat.
