Homemade citrus lemonade is a refreshing drink with a rich flavor and a subtle sweet-sour note. Its roots trace back to sunny Mexico, where citrus fruits are widely used to make traditional refreshing beverages. Lemons, limes, and oranges create a harmonious bouquet of freshness, while mint adds lightness and pleasant coolness. The uniqueness of this lemonade lies in its rich, natural aroma that unfolds through the infusion of zest in hot water. The drink is perfect for summer days, helping to quench thirst and recharge energy. It can be served with ice cubes, garnished with citrus slices and a sprig of mint, turning an ordinary treat into a true Mexican fiesta.

Pour boiling water over each citrus fruit and let it sit for a minute. Dry them and slice the peel very thinly. Transfer the peel to a large heatproof bowl and pour in 1.5 liters of boiling water, squeezing the juice from the fruits into the water as well.
