Breaded croutons stuffed with berries

Berry-stuffed French toast sticks in batter are a true delight of American cuisine, combining the softness of bread with the rich flavor of berries and aromatic notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. This recipe originated as a variation of classic French toast but gained its individuality by adding fresh berries to crispy, golden slices. The egg and banana batter adds a special tenderness, while yogurt with honey completes the composition, creating a balance between sweetness and freshness. The toast is perfect for a cozy breakfast or dessert, bringing warmth and joy to each serving.

1
Make longitudinal 'pockets' in each piece of bread (at least 3-4 cm thick) with a sharp knife and fill them with berries. For me, square loaves are the most convenient format.
- Whole wheat bread: 2 pieces
- Fresh berries: 150 g
2
Blend the eggs with banana, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour into a wide bowl.
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Bananas: 1 piece
- Nutmeg: pinch
- Cinnamon: pinch
3
Dip each toast in the egg mixture on both sides and fry until golden brown.
4
Before serving, drizzle with yogurt and honey.
- Natural yoghurt: 50 g
- Honey: 2 tablespoons
