Sweet French toast with jam is a cozy morning treat inspired by classic European traditions. Airy bread soaked in a delicate mixture of milk, eggs, and honey acquires an appetizing golden crust when fried. A light hint of cinnamon adds zest, while strawberry jam brings a sweet, fruity note that creates a balance of flavors. This dish pairs perfectly with a cup of hot tea or coffee, evoking warm memories of home breakfasts. French toast can be served as a standalone dessert or as an addition to a more substantial breakfast. Its simplicity makes it accessible even for novice cooks, while its rich flavor turns an ordinary day into a small celebration.

1
Beat the egg, yolk, and milk until smooth. Add honey and beat again.
- Chicken egg: 1 piece
- Egg yolk: 1 piece
- Milk: 200 ml
- Honey: 2 tablespoons
2
Cut the bread into 1.5 cm thick slices. Prepare a large skillet by adding oil and heating it over medium heat. Dip each slice of bread in the egg-milk mixture on both sides, waiting for the bread to absorb the liquid. Place the slices not in the skillet, but on a clean plate on top of each other — so they start frying at the same time.
- White bread: 250 g
- Butter: 20 g
3
Fry the toasts covered for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
4
Reduce the heat to minimum, spread a little jam on the top side of the toasted bread, sprinkle with cinnamon, and warm under a lid for another minute. Serve hot.
- Strawberry jam: to taste
- Cinnamon: to taste
