Fried egg with tomato and mozzarella
1 serving
20 minutes
Tomato and mozzarella fried eggs are a simple yet elegant dish of Italian cuisine, where each flavor note harmoniously complements the other. Sweet, slightly caramelized tomatoes create a juicy base, tender eggs with runny yolks provide a creamy texture, and melted mozzarella envelops everything in creamy softness. The finishing touch is fresh basil, which adds a refreshing aroma and highlights the dish's delicacy. With such ingredients, this fried egg is an ideal breakfast or light dinner that delights not only the taste but also the appearance.

1
Pour vegetable oil into a heated pan, slice the tomato into thin circles, remove the core, and place the tomato at the bottom of the pan.
- Tomatoes: 1 piece
2
Fry the tomato on both sides. Be careful not to overcook it so the tomato doesn't get mushy.
- Tomatoes: 1 piece
3
Crack the eggs over the tomato, preferably keeping the yolk intact. Sprinkle salt on top — it's tastiest to throw salt crystals on the yolk! Cover with a lid to let it cook a bit.
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
4
Place thin slices of mozzarella on top of the eggs, cover again with a lid, and wait for the mozzarella to melt.
- Mozzarella cheese: 50 g
5
Finely chop the basil leaves and sprinkle them over the cooked fried eggs.
- Basil leaves: 3 pieces
