Cheese cake with ham is a delightful dish of Russian cuisine that combines the tenderness of cheese, the spiciness of ham, and the airy texture of layered dough. Its roots trace back to the traditions of making layered snack pies, but the special filling makes it unique. Each layer is soaked in a creamy-mustard sauce that enhances the flavor of the cheese and harmonizes with the delicate ham. The cake is hearty, slightly stretchy due to the cheese, with a crispy crust and appetizing aroma. It is perfect for festive tables or cozy home evenings, especially when paired with greens and vegetables. Baked to a golden color, this cake impresses not only with its taste but also its appearance, resembling a layered pie that makes guests eagerly await their first bite.
