Patatnik with brinza is a traditional dish of Bulgarian cuisine originating from the Rhodope Mountains. Its roots go back to ancient times when shepherds prepared hearty and simple meals from available ingredients. The crispy golden crust of potatoes combines with the tender salty brinza, creating a unique taste that is both soft and rich. The addition of butter gives patatnik an appetizing texture and aroma. It is ideal for a cozy family dinner or as part of a festive table. In Bulgaria, it is often served with yogurt or fresh vegetables, highlighting its rustic simplicity and naturalness.
