Turkey baked under cheese with tomatoes is an elegant and simple dish of European cuisine that combines the rich flavor of turkey, the freshness of tomatoes, and the creamy aroma of cheese. Such dishes are believed to have originated as adaptations of traditional meat roasting in the oven, with the addition of vegetables and herbs providing new flavor nuances. Baked turkey is distinguished by its tenderness and juiciness due to natural meat juices and delicate melted cheese. Provencal herbs add refined notes, while juicy tomatoes provide a slight acidity that balances the flavor profile. This dish is perfect for a family dinner or festive table, delighting with its appetizing appearance and wonderful aroma.

1
Cut the meat into flat pieces of the size that suits you.
- Turkey fillet: 250 g
2
Add dried herbs and salt, rubbing each piece with this mixture by hand.
- Provencal herbs: to taste
- Salt: to taste
3
Grease the baking tray with butter and place pieces of meat on it at a small distance from each other.
- Butter: to taste
4
It's better to use firm tomatoes so they don't fall apart. Slice them into rounds with a sharp knife and place them on top of the meat.
- Tomatoes: 2 pieces
5
Grate the cheese on a fine grater (I have Russian cheese) and sprinkle it on each piece.
- Grated hard cheese: to taste
6
Bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees (be sure to watch so it doesn't burn or overcook!!!)
