Cinnamon pastries are a delightful dessert of European cuisine, combining crispy puff pastry and sweet spicy filling. Their roots trace back to the baking traditions of France and Austria, where puff pastry became the basis for many exquisite treats. The aroma of cinnamon, delicate flavor, and airy texture make pastries an ideal choice for a cozy tea time or light snack. Their simplicity allows for enjoyment at home: the dough is rolled out, brushed with egg, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, then baked until golden brown. They can be served hot and crispy or slightly warm alongside a cup of coffee or cocoa. Adding a piece of cheese transforms the pastries into an interesting blend of sweet and savory flavors, perfect for breakfast or festive tables.
