A quick bean snack under a cheesy crust is the perfect blend of Mexican simplicity and rich flavor. The dish's origins trace back to the depths of Mexican cuisine, where beans are the main ingredient in many traditional recipes. It has a rich creamy texture thanks to melted cheddar covering layers of red beans and pinto beans. Spicy salsa adds zest, while fresh green onions provide a light, spicy note. It cooks in just a few minutes – great for a quick bite or as an appetizer for festive tables. The browned cheese crust makes the dish especially appetizing, and its versatility allows it to be served as a standalone treat or as a dip with crispy tortillas.
