Mint raita is a refreshing dish from Indian cuisine that perfectly complements spicy and hot dishes. This yogurt sauce with cucumber and mint has a delicate, creamy flavor with a light coolness of fresh mint and a subtle aroma of cumin. Historically, raita originated as a way to soften the spiciness of Indian dishes and refresh the palate in hot climates. It pairs wonderfully with biryani, curry, or simply fresh flatbreads. Its simplicity in preparation and natural ingredients make it not only delicious but also a healthy addition to meals.
