Oven-baked fish with mayonnaise is a classic dish of Russian cuisine that combines the tender meat of cod, the sweetness of carrots, and the rich flavor of onions, complemented by the soft creamy texture of mayonnaise. The origins of this recipe trace back to the traditions of home feasts when simple yet hearty dishes took center stage on the table. Fish, pre-fried to a golden crust, is then baked with vegetables and sauce, making it incredibly juicy and aromatic. Baked fish pairs wonderfully with potato sides or fresh salads, and serving it chilled adds a special tenderness. This dish is perfect for both everyday dinners and festive gatherings where it delights with its rich flavor and appetizing appearance.
