Lithuanian homemade cheese is a traditional dish of Lithuanian cuisine that embodies the coziness and uniqueness of folk culinary traditions. Tender, stretchy, and aromatic, it has a soft creamy flavor with a hint of caraway spice. This cheese is made using simple, natural ingredients: fresh cottage cheese, milk, butter, and eggs. Herbs play an important role by adding fresh notes. Historically, such cheese could be made in villages using old recipes; it served as a base for breakfasts and light snacks.
