Finska-pinnar, or 'Finnish sticks,' is an exquisite Swedish cookie that captivates with its fragility and nutty flavor. Its roots trace back to Northern European traditions where almonds were valued for their rich aroma and delicate texture. These sweet sticks are coated with a layer of lightly whipped egg white and coarse sugar, making them pleasantly crispy. They are simply made: the dough, mixed with butter and flour, is chilled, cut into small pieces, and baked until golden. Finska-pinnar pairs perfectly with coffee or tea, creating cozy moments of enjoyment. With their fragility and sweet aftertaste, they have become a favorite treat in Swedish homes, and their simplicity makes them accessible even to novice bakers.
