Sugar buns are a classic of Russian home baking, filling the house with the cozy aroma of sweet dough. Their roots go deep into traditions when fluffy yeast pastries symbolized hospitality and abundance. The delicate dough made with milk and butter becomes airy thanks to fresh yeast, while the sugary filling gives them a pleasant caramel sweetness. These buns are perfect for a cozy tea time, complementing the taste of hot tea or coffee with softness and sweetness. They are especially loved by children, and their simplicity in preparation makes them a great choice for home baking. The crispy crust and soft airy crumb turn each bun into a little gastronomic delight.
