Butter cookies are a classic of British baking, known for their tenderness and rich creamy flavor. It is believed that such recipes originated in the Middle Ages and have since become a favorite treat at tea times. The simple ingredients—butter, cane sugar, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and flour—create a crumbly texture and a soft, slightly caramel aroma. The cookies pair excellently with tea or coffee and are a wonderful addition to cozy family evenings. Their elegant appearance makes them perfect for serving at festive tables, while the simplicity of preparation allows one to enjoy this treat even on weekdays.
