Cheese, ham, and herb pies are a fragrant treat of Russian cuisine that combines the tenderness of puff pastry with the rich flavor of the filling. These pies emerged from the tradition of using simple yet hearty ingredients to create a harmonious dish for family gatherings. Ham adds a meaty note, cheese provides creamy softness, while fresh green onions and dill bring spiciness and spring freshness. They can be served hot or slightly cooled, perfectly complementing a morning breakfast or a cozy dinner with a cup of tea. The pies are easy to take along, making them an excellent snack on the go. They are good as a standalone dish or as an addition to a light salad or soup.
