Cottage cheese pie with orange is a delicate Polish dessert with a bright citrus flavor. Its roots trace back to European cuisine, where cottage cheese has long been used to create airy pastries. The warm aroma of vanilla and fresh orange zest give the pie a special charm. During preparation, the cottage cheese mixture is combined with eggs and sour cream, forming a velvety texture, while the crumbly base adds crunchiness. After baking, the dessert becomes firm but remains tender inside. It’s an ideal choice for family tea gatherings, especially in cold weather when you want to add sunny freshness to the atmosphere. It can be served warm or chilled, complemented with cream or fruits.

Cottage cheese dough is made very simply. The cottage cheese is mashed with vanilla and sugar into a homogeneous mass (a mixer, blender, or whisk can be used).

The zest of the washed and dried orange is removed (using a fine grater). We add the orange zest, potato starch, raw eggs, and sour cream to the cottage cheese mixture. We beat with a mixer until smooth.
- Oranges: 1 piece
- Potato starch: 2 tablespoons
- Chicken egg: 3 pieces
- Sour cream 10%: 250 g

If using a sandy base, spread it in a thin layer on the bottom and sides of a baking paper-lined mold. Now add the cheese-orange filling, spread it over the surface, and place it in a hot oven. Bake the cheesecake at 180 degrees in a closed oven for about 50 minutes. If it seems undercooked in the middle - don't worry. Let it cool and it will set better. Do not cut it while it's hot!
