Grated pie is a cozy dessert from European cuisine that captivates with its crispy top layer and tender, aromatic filling. Its history dates back to home baking of the last century when housewives used simple ingredients to create delicious and hearty treats. The secret of the pie lies in the grated dough, which turns into a golden crumb when baked, contrasting with the delicate filling—cottage cheese or fruit jam. Each piece combines sweetness, softness, and a slight crumbliness, making it an ideal complement to tea or coffee. Due to its simplicity and variety of fillings, the grated pie has become a favorite among many families, and its homey aroma always evokes pleasant memories of cozy evenings.
