Cottage cheese casserole with apples is a delicate, airy dessert from Russian cuisine that has become a beloved treat for many generations. Its roots go back to the traditions of village baking where cottage cheese is the main character in many dishes. In this variation, flour and semolina are excluded, making the casserole light and dietary. The delicate cottage cheese flavor complemented by the sweetness of honey combines with the light tartness of apples to create a harmony of tastes. Whipped egg whites give the structure airiness while cinnamon adds a warm aroma. This is an ideal dish for family breakfast or a cozy evening. The casserole is good both warm and chilled, and its ease of preparation makes it accessible even for novice cooks.
