Apple pudding is a classic dessert of Russian cuisine, wrapped in the warmth of home comfort. Its history dates back centuries when apples were one of the most accessible fruits. The taste of this pudding is a harmony of tender dough, fragrant vanilla, and sweet baked apples that turn into a soft caramel filling. It is incredibly airy with a light crispy crust, and its sweetness is balanced by the natural tartness of the apples. The pudding can be served as a standalone dessert or complemented with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh berries. It is good both warm and cooled down, and its softness and richness make it an ideal ending to a cozy evening. It truly embodies the taste of childhood, awakening warm memories.

1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
2
Choose sweeter apples. They need to be peeled and cored. Cut the apples into large pieces. I cut each into 8 parts.
- Apple: 600 g
3
No need to beat the dough. Simply mix all the ingredients in one bowl.
- Butter: 125 g
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Sugar: 200 g
- Wheat flour: 120 g
- Baking powder: 0.5 teaspoon
- Vanilla pod: 1 piece
4
Try to take everything you need from the fridge in advance. It's best to use eggs at room temperature.
5
The butter should be soft, able to easily mix with other components. Cut the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a knife.
- Butter: 125 g
- Vanilla pod: 1 piece
6
Add sugar, flour, and baking powder. Mix everything well.
- Sugar: 200 g
- Wheat flour: 120 g
- Baking powder: 0.5 teaspoon
7
Grease the baking dish with butter and arrange the apple slices in an even layer.
- Butter: 125 g
- Apple: 600 g
8
Now spread the dough on top. It (the dough) will be quite liquid. It's enough to lift the bowl a little higher, 'pouring' the mixture over the fruit filling.
9
Place in a preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The surface should turn a confident brown, 'baked' color. During this time, the apples will become very soft, and the top of the pudding will be covered with a nice crust.

This dish is absolutely wonderful to consume warm. However, the cooled pudding will also delight you!
