Heart-shaped buns with cinnamon and jam

Heart-shaped buns with cinnamon and jam are a symbol of tenderness and home comfort. This recipe, inspired by Russian baking traditions, combines crispy puff pastry with the warmth of aromatic cinnamon and the sweetness of fruit jam. Making these buns becomes a creative process: each heart is shaped by hand, joining two soft pieces of dough. During baking, they fill the home with the magical aroma of fresh pastries, awakening memories of family tea gatherings. Their taste is a harmony of lightness and richness, where caramelized sugar and butter create a golden crust. These buns are perfect for a cozy breakfast or romantic dinner, filling the moment with warmth and sweetness.

1
Take one piece of dough. Grease it with butter and cinnamon with sugar.
- Puff pastry: 1 piece
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon: 2 teaspoons
- Sugar: 2 tablespoons
2
We cut it lengthwise into 2 parts. We roll each of them into a roll.
3
Cut each roll into pieces. Each piece should be about 1–1.5 cm.
4
We turn the pieces towards ourselves and 'glue' the hearts from two pieces. To make the pieces 'stick' faster, we moisten the dough (at the joining point) with water.
5
We take the second piece of dough, roll it out, and spread it with jam. Then, just like with the previous piece, we cut it lengthwise and roll it into small rolls. We cut them into equal parts and 'glue' the hearts together.
- Puff pastry: 1 piece
- Jam: 2 tablespoons
6
Place a baking paper on the baking tray and put the hearts on it. Bake the buns according to our dough instructions. When the buns are golden in the oven, take them out.
