Airy lace buns are a true culinary masterpiece that combines tenderness and sophistication. Their roots trace back to Russian traditional baking, where the skill of dough preparation was valued alongside its taste. The buns have a light, airy structure, and their shape resembles elegant lace. The vanilla aroma adds warmth of home comfort, while the sweet powder completes this gastronomic symphony. They are perfect for both cozy tea gatherings and festive treats. Their preparation is an art that transforms ordinary dough into delicate spirals of pleasure that simply melt in your mouth.

1
Pour milk into a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast, mix, cover with a napkin, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Milk: 140 ml
- Sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Dry yeast: 10 g
2
In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Wheat flour: 350 g
- Sugar: 3 tablespoons
3
Add milk, sugar, and eggs to the prepared dough. Mix with a spoon.
- Milk: 140 ml
- Sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Egg yolk: 2 pieces
4
When the dough becomes hard to mix, add chopped butter. Knead the dough for 10 minutes. Transfer the dough to a clean bowl, cover with a napkin, and leave in a warm place for about 1 hour and 30 minutes until the dough rises (doubles in size).
- Butter: 80 g
5
Divide the dough into two parts. Roll it out not too thinly. Cut out circles (5 cm in diameter in the photo). Stack three circles of dough as shown in the picture. Roll them together, then cut in half — you will get 2 lace pieces. Do this with all the dough.
6
Line the muffin pan with baking paper, placing the lace not too tightly, as shown in the picture.
7
Brush the buns with sweet milk and let them rise in volume, bake for about 15-20 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Decorate with powdered sugar.
- Milk: 140 ml
- Powdered sugar: to taste
