Heart-shaped jelly cake is a delicate and airy dessert from Yugoslav cuisine that combines the softness of sponge cake, the freshness of jelly, and a light tartness of cherries. This recipe is rooted in the traditions of celebrating love and friendship, as its heart shape makes it a symbol of warm feelings and care. The layers are soaked in rum, giving them a refined aroma, while the marmalade and sour cream add juiciness and rich flavor. The top layer of set jelly not only decorates the cake but also provides a unique texture that pleasantly contrasts with the tenderness of the sponge. This dessert is perfect for romantic evenings, celebrations, or simply to delight loved ones. Bright pastry decorations make it a true work of art, while the harmonious combination of ingredients turns it into a culinary masterpiece.
