Its flavor is based on the contrast between the soft, airy cottage cheese filling and the crunchy chocolate crumbs. This pie is perfect for cozy tea gatherings, creating an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. The slight tang of the cottage cheese harmonizes with the rich aroma of cocoa, while the sweetness is balanced by just the right amount of sugar. Historically, such pies became popular in Germany due to a love for baked goods with cottage cheese, and the combination with chocolate added a festive touch.
