Layered buns with cottage cheese filling and raisins are a delicate and airy treat of Russian cuisine that combines crispy dough and a soft sweet filling. The recipe is based on unleavened puff pastry filled with a fragrant mixture of cottage cheese, vanilla, sour cream, and raisins. Historically, such baked goods were popular in Russian homes, especially during holidays and family gatherings. The taste of the buns is a harmonious blend of the light sourness of cottage cheese and the sweetness of raisins, complemented by a crispy crust achieved by brushing with egg and sprinkling with sesame or poppy seeds. They are conveniently served with tea or coffee, while powdered sugar gives them a finished aesthetic look. This is a simple yet elegant dessert that brings warmth and comfort to everyone who tries it.
