Banana buns

Banana rolls are delicate, fragrant pastries with a light sweet taste due to the natural sweetness of ripe bananas. Their origin is linked to American cuisine, where fruits are often used in dough to add softness and depth of flavor. The rolls are airy and slightly chewy, with a subtle vanilla aroma complemented by light caramel notes of baked banana. They pair perfectly with morning coffee or tea and can also be a great treat for family dinners. Thanks to the simple preparation process, they are easy to make even for beginners, and their versatility allows for experimentation with additions like nuts or chocolate. Their pleasant golden color and soft texture make them not only tasty but also visually appealing.

1
Sift the flour a couple of times. Mix with vanilla.
- Wheat flour: 2.5 glasss
- Vanilla: pinch
2
We peel and puree the bananas.
- Bananas: 2 pieces
3
Dissolve yeast with sugar in warmed milk.
- Milk: 1 glass
- Dry yeast: 1 tablespoon
- Sugar: 0.5 glass
4
We add melted cooled butter and banana puree. Mix everything thoroughly.
- Butter: 30 g
- Bananas: 2 pieces
5
Add flour and knead a soft, not stiff dough. You may need more flour than indicated in the recipe. But the main thing is not to add too much, as the dough will become tough and the buns will be hard, and not to add too little, as the buns will spread and lose shape. So make sure the dough is soft and slightly springy.
- Wheat flour: 2.5 glasss
6
We send it to a warm place. It only needs to rise once. We divide it into several parts. Each part is rolled into a sausage shape and then cut into pieces, which are then simply rolled into buns.
7
Place on a baking sheet and brush with either egg or just milk. You can sprinkle sugar, poppy seeds, or sesame on top.
- Milk: 1 glass
- Sugar: 0.5 glass
- Vanilla: pinch
8
Bake at 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes (adjust according to your oven, you may need to reduce or increase the baking time).
