Soft chocolate chip cookies are a classic dessert of American cuisine that has won the hearts of sweet lovers worldwide. Its history began in the 1930s when chef Ruth Wakefield accidentally added chocolate pieces to the dough, expecting them to melt. Instead, tender, chewy cookies with delicious chocolate chunks were created. This treat has a soft, airy texture and a rich buttery flavor combined with dark and milk chocolate. It is perfect for cozy tea time, a snack, or as a gift. The cookies are especially tasty when slightly warmed before serving, allowing the chocolate to melt a bit for an incredible combination of warm and gooey dessert.
