Oatmeal cookies with butter and vanilla are the true embodiment of home comfort and warmth. Their roots go back to Russian cuisine, where simplicity and rich flavor have always been valued. The crispy edges and soft, tender center make these cookies indispensable for cozy evenings with a cup of tea. The aroma of vanilla adds a subtle sweetness that perfectly complements the rich taste of butter. Thanks to the oats, they have a light graininess that makes each bite special. Suitable for breakfast or a light snack, they also wonderfully complement evening gatherings. The sweetness of brown sugar is balanced by depth of flavor, and the quick preparation makes it a favorite recipe for busy hosts.

1
Mix quick-cooking oats with sugar and baking powder.
- Oat flakes: 2.5 glasss
- Brown sugar: 1 glass
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
2
Melt 125 g of butter in a water bath, pour it into the mixture of oats and sugar, and mix thoroughly. When the mixture becomes homogeneous, add an egg and vanilla, and mix again.
- Butter: 150 g
- Chicken egg: 1 piece
- Vanilla: 1 teaspoon
3
Spoon the oatmeal mixture onto a generously buttered baking sheet (with 3 cm spacing). Press each portion down with the rounded side of the spoon.
- Butter: 150 g
4
Bake in the middle of an oven preheated to 190 degrees for about 8 minutes. After removing the cookies from the oven, leave them on the baking sheet for 1-2 minutes, then transfer to a plate with a metal spatula. If the cookies stick to the baking sheet, put them back in the oven for 1 minute. Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.
