Pita is a traditional Mediterranean bread known for its soft and airy texture. This bread originated thousands of years ago and is widely used in the cuisines of Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, and other countries. Its uniqueness lies in its ability to form an air pocket inside during cooking, making it ideal for filling with various ingredients – meats, vegetables, sauces. The taste of pita is neutral with a slight yeast note, and its structure allows it to harmoniously combine with spicy and rich ingredients. It is easy to prepare: elastic dough is kneaded, divided into flatbreads, and cooked on a dry skillet. Pita is not just bread but the foundation of many dishes that can enhance the flavor of fresh ingredients and aromatic spices.
